When you are buying a home, one of the most important decisions you will make is who to hire as your buyers agent. This person will be responsible for helping you find the right home, negotiating on your behalf, and handling all the paperwork related to the purchase. So how much does a buyers agent cost? Read on to find out!

Some buyers agents charge an upfront fee as well as a commission on the sale. Others only get paid once you have settled on a property.

In either case, the fee is generally a percentage of the sale price of the home – usually around 2.5%.

At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to work with a buyers agent. If you do decide to work with one, be sure to ask about their fees upfront so you know what to expect.
